    Community Involvement

    Our very own Anne Barnas has recently served as a judge for the national DECA Human Resource Management Competition! The competition took place on February 11, 2012 at the Wiregrass Valdosta campus and participating students were currently studying in the HR or business fields. We would like to congratulate the winners of the competition and recognize their scholastic achievements. SmithBarnas & Associates wishes these students much success with all future endeavors.

    EEOC & High School Diploma Requirements

    The EEOC issued an informal discussion letter about how the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) applies to qualification standards for jobs. If requiring a high school diploma, employers must remember to carry out two steps. First, demonstrate that a high school education is a job-related requirement. Meaning, the job can not be efficiently performed by someone without a high school diploma.
